Trying Windows 11

I needed to install Windows 11 in my work laptop because I'm trying to use only Windows for developing. It turns out you can run GUI Linux programs in windows natively in an update that's not yet live and by joining the Windows Insider thing, I got updated to Windows 11 without even knowing that it would.

I'm actually liking it. I like how it looks. I like how I can more easily control windows in a dual display set-up, and how I have more freedom to snap multiple windows in screen. The new settings app is going to take a bit of getting used to, but I don't mind it.

I don't like it that the taskbar icons are not really centered though. Hopefully they'll fix it.

This is the longest I've been without actually booting into a Linux distro in my computer. It's been about 3 weeks now.

I know me though, I'll go back eventually when things feel stale. That's me, always wanting to try new things. I've formatted my computer like 10 times in the last 2 years.

  1. They need to fix that Taskbar asap, it hurts my eyes! I didn't even know w11 was a thing haha and I haven't used Linux in years, well I mean I use Linux servers all the time at work. I don't like to be in the loop of tech stuff cause then I want it all.

  2. OOoooooooh! Nice! I want to try it! But also, I hope win11 doesn't roll out for a long time haha Cuz I know that will create a lot of work for me. Might have to create Win11 specific endpoint policies probably. I assume it would all be compatible with Office 365 and Intune, since it's all Microsoft stuff, but the last thing I need is more work around compatibility while continuing to get this migration moving along.

    1. Most if not all things that work in win10 should work fine in win11, but yeah, there's always edge cases
