3D fever

Now with the 3DS, haha. I've only played for a little bit, but so far I'm liking it :)

Crap drivers

That's what I suppose is causing my laptop's Windows to be crapping up. It constantly disconnects from the network (only my computer, not any other computer in the house or cell phone).

The video card driver messed up Silverlight (hence, Netflix) when I updated it.

The computer freezes for minutes at a time for no reason whatsoever, though I can't imagine how that'd be a driver problem...but that's what I'm blaming it on.

Anywho, I'm installing the original drivers right now and hope that solves the problems, if not...I may just have to format the partition.

Fever

I think I'm going to blow up or something...if I don't make it, know that I despise you all :P

3D testing

We've been testing it with different stuff, to see how it looks on the new TV. So far it's pretty good.

We tested with a PS3 demo of Killzone 3, and it is pretty sweet. We're also planning on buying some 3D movies and we already bought Uncharted 3, though it's not yet in our hands.

This is what my mom and brother look like watching 3D content:

Ninja cut

I have a cut in my left thumb, that I really don't know how it got there.

I just noticed it this morning, and it makes me wonder, how long has it been there? What did I cut myself with? What was I doing? Why didn't it hurt? Why does it hurt now that I know it's there?

I find it very interesting how the human brain works that way. It's a totally superficial cut, but the exact moment you notice it's there, it starts to hurt. I've had that happen when I notice blood coming out of a cut or a scrape I didn't know I have. I once woke up to find out my left arm all covered in dried up blood, wtf? What could have made me bleed that much but at the same time not cause any pain? It freaked me out for a bit. Stupid brain.

Jazz

Hanging out with The Three Musketeers was pretty fun. Ate some vegan pizza, watched an episode of The Office, played some UNO, and went to see a jazz band play at a bar. It was awesome, I'll hang out with them again on Saturday, can't wait :).

But now, time to get some sleep, work tomorrow.

Visiting Uncle Sam

That's what I'll be doing tomorrow :).

My Visa expired back in June. But before that, I had not gone to the US since February. Feels like forever even if it's only 10 months.

But today I went to pick up my new Visa....finally!!! I'm looking at it right now. After all the bureaucracy shit from the US Consulate, it's finally here.

It still amazes me how two cities that are right next to each other are so very different. Ok, yes, they're in different countries, but even the air is different...but, that's not the point of this post. The point is that I will finally visit the Three Musketeers at their HQ.

How long 'til batteries die?

I mean for good.

I want to plug everything to charge it, even if it doesn't need electricity to work...ok, no, not really (that sounds wrong).

If my laptop can work with a rechargeable battery, why can't everything else? Like my wireless keyboard and mouse? Remotes...and that's pretty much it. Oh, and right now, I'm wondering that about the Wii Remotes. We had rechargeable Wii Remote batteries but they died, so we just bought normal AA rechargeable batteries.

I once had my old Game Boy Advance die on me while fighting with the last boss of Golden Sun. That's the kind of thing that could make me a murderer. It was back in the day when I still dared to keep playing for hours after the little green battery light turned to red...that was stupid. I learned the lesson the hard way. Same way one learns a lesson about saving a file regularly after having a file completely lost because you didn't save it and the power went off or something.

So, kids, whenever editing a file, just press Ctrl+S (Cmd+S for macboys) every 2 minutes, and if the battery light of a device turns to red (or whatever indicates low battery), you better have more batteries handy. Of course, this advice is stupid, it's like you not to jump from a 15 story building if you have no intentions to commit suicide.

Broken promise

I don't watch TV. The only thing I do watch on TV are sports. Exclusively.

But I also get addicted with series. Enter Netflix. I don't like waiting a whole week to watch the next episode so I just wait 'til the season's over to watch it all. Right now I'm watching "How I Met Your Mother." I just picked that one randomly cause Netflix put it as recommendation and I remember a friend mentioned it once, so I made the connection in my head and just started watching it. I'm liking it so far.

There is, however, a series that I said I was going to watch because Mari recommended it (Parks & Recreation), but it keeps slipping my mind. And I've told her like 5 times I would, I just forget, and by the time I remember about it, I'm already in the middle of another one and I just can't stop.

So, Mari, I will try my best to watch P&R right after HIMYM :)

Super awesome mega epic gaming night

Or something to that effect, I forget what I have called it other times.

My friend (Hugo) and me once, a couple of years ago, played Gears of War 2 in co-op in its entirety in one sitting. That was not the original plan at the time. He was just going to bring his Xbox to my house, we would rent a game and we would play for a while, and that's it. But we were having so much fun, and time was passing so fast, that the sunrise came and we were still playing. We were so far into the story that we didn't want to leave it like that, so naturally, we finished it. It was like 9am.

Some time later, over a year ago, we tried to recreate it with another game. We wanted an action-packed game that had a co-op option. We decided to go for Army of Two: The 40th Day. It would be again in my house, so he brought his Xbox and we went to rent the game. Now the plan WAS to pass it all in one sitting, no matter what time we finished...however, God did not smile on us that day (sarcasm, atheist :D). His Xbox died that night, we couldn't even start the game. We tried a quick search for ways to fix it, but we couldn't. After some mourning, we just played Rock Band 2 for a little while and we called it a night (when he left the sun had already come out, so we must have spent a lot of time mourning).

Tonight (or last night?), after more than a year, the next attempt was scheduled. He had just bought a new Xbox, a 32" HDTV and Gears of War 3. This time, his house would be the seat of this SAMEGN (abbreviation of the name I literally just made up) session. We did start the game, it looked awesome, we had fun, the whole package. Alas, we did not finish it. We played 'til 6am, and I don't know how long the game is, but I'm pretty sure we were at least at 80% of the campaign. Good thing is he actually owns the game, it's not a rental, so we can easily just pick up where we left off.

All in all, it was pretty awesome :)

Hiatus over

I'm going to attribute my lack of blogging lately to two things:

1. Some of you stopped blogging and I kind of just followed suit.
2. I've been pretty much neglecting everything besides work because of Zelda. I've been playing it non stop. I'm about at 90% of the story, but I want to get every possible thing there is, which could take a couple of days more.

Anyway, those are my excuses...I'm not saying they're good, but there they are.
