Every now and then, while walking happily in the street, you see either a guy with a white shirt and a red tie, or a woman with a long skirt...and they got their eyes on you, they have targeted you and won't take you out of their sights, you try to ignore them, or even walk far from them, but nope, you were too late, they have already approached you and are handing you a brochure...
Yes, I can imagine every person in Juárez (perhaps all of México) that has walked more than a kilometer from place to place has experienced this. And just to not be rude, you take it, and keep walking...
Then curiosity strikes...after making sure that (s)he is not following, you look down, turn the brochure over and oh yes, what else could it be about:

| Why you can trust in the Bible |
I'm not going into detail about what it says, but basically this is it: "You should believe in the bible cause the bible says you should believe in it"...what...the...fuck...
You know what? Yeah, tomorrow morning, I'm going to skip work, go to church and confess all my sins....pffffffffffffffff. There's a reason (or more likely several reasons) why some people don't believe in the bible and/or a God. Are they trying to tell me that those reasons can be easily dismissed by telling me the bible says I should believe in it? Oh, ok, so if somebody tells me Microsoft says Bing is the best search engine, then I should just use it and that's it???
Logic....intelligent arguments...proof...coherence...where have all of you gone?...

ReplyDeleteThis song resumes the good book :P
I cant even go to the store next block on Sundays because they are everywhere D:, I have had to do walks around the block just to avoid them when they are knocking in my home :/
ReplyDeletelol dude, they always catch me when I am in a hurry(maybe because I am in a hurry most of the time!), but I would like to sit down, and listen to them pitch me their religion. I would calmly listen. And then little by little, throw in a question every now and then, mild ones at first, to see how it all goes.
ReplyDeleteit's not rude to not pick up their trash.....when they offer them to you say 'i'm not interested' and keep walking or if they are by a trash can, take it and throw it to the trash in front of them.......ok, maybe i am anti religion.....
ReplyDelete@Geli - I would LOVE to see you do that!
ReplyDeletewell i've done the 'im not interested' many times...havent seen one close to a trashcan yet :/
ReplyDeleteLOL yeah Geli, I don't think you would be able to throw away their stuff. You're too nice! But yeah, that's what I do... I just say I'm not interested.
ReplyDeletei would do it!
ReplyDeleteThat's it! Next time we run into one on the street(cuz we will), I am pointing to the trash can!! And you better do it!!
